RIP Tony Greig

Sorry to hear the sad news of the death of Tony Greig today. Tony was one of my first sporting heroes and at the age of 9 I spent a whole summer watching England battered by the all pace attack of the then mighty West Indies. "Tall Man" was the nickname I affectionately gave him and his innings of 116 at the Oval that summer, along with Alan Knott (who also scored 116) was a highlight of England resistance in an otherwise one directional series.

Thank you Tony for the memories of you striding to the wicket, collar upturned, with your bat looking like a matchstick in your hands. The world of cricket has lost a true great, and a small boy a hero.
