Protect your email...protect your business
Really interesting case study published by CFC Underwriting here.
Whilst it perhaps is closest to home to me as an insurance broker, it can equally apply to any small business. To me, the two main lessons are:
1. Protect your email password like your business depends on it. It may well do. Use a strong password, keep it safe in a password manager and never ever let anyone have it.
2. Make sure you have appropriate cyber crime cover in your insurance programme. There are many products now which can provide suitable cover for you and will not cost the Earth.
Statistics say that this is the most likely kind of loss that is going to affect your business.
